The first time we met with Vlad and his team we were very impressed with their professional attitude and how well they listened to our ideas and plans. From other people we knew who had used them, the sites that this team was working on, and other trades people that had worked with them we felt totally comfortable with the decision of using them as our builders. 

One building inspector we knew even went as far to say that he felt that this team were one of the best builders in Norfolk at the moment and he was very impressed with the standard of their work. 

The team were incredibly tidy and worked immensely hard and effectively, and as we saw our extension go up we were so happy with the level of craftsmanship. The boys were so polite and we always felt that we could approach them to talk through any changes, in fact suggestions they made were always well thought through and we really appreciated their input. Their pride in their work shows in everything they do and everyone who has seen our build has commented as such. We found their quotes very reasonable and fair and would not hesitate in recommending V&B builders to other potential clients.

I appointed V&B Builders to carry out extension and refurbishment work at my home in 2015. The project involved stripping out the existing kitchen, bathrooms and WCs, demolition and supporting structure to form large openings, two single storey extensions, one large to house an open plan living kitchen and dining space and one small to house a new shower room. The refurbishment work included a new bathroom, plastered and decorated walls, a new heating system and a rewire. The standard of finish and workmanship demanded was extremely high. 

Vlad, Bogdan and their team rose to the challenge and I have to say impressed in many areas. The first thing to note about V&B is their professional attitude. Always punctual, always returning calls and texts quickly and always helpful in finding economical solutions when needed. Notably respectful and polite, they left the property clean and tidy each day. Add to this a very impressive work ethic, early starts and late finish with little in the way of breaks when required, as keeping a project on programme was clearly a priority. Workmanship though merits particular praise; the quality of finish, tiling, plasterwork and decoration were all of a very high standard. 

As such, I would have no hesitation in recommending V&B Builders to any householder looking to carry out a similar project in the Norwich area. For me the project and working with Vlad, Bogdan and their team was an absolute pleasure.

At last, after our house move, we have managed to find time to write to you both to thank you very much for all the good work you carried out at this house over recent months.

Jan and I were still living in France when we bought the property and there was a fair amount of extension and renovation work to be done before we could move in. This was a big problem to us, as we had no idea which firm of builders could be trusted with the job and also because we were not there to keep an eye on what was happening. 

We had to rely on the recommendations from the “My Builder” website and the many letters of satisfaction provided by yourselves. When we eventually arrived here, we were very impressed by the high standard of workmanship and finish and relieved that it had all turned out so well. Our neighbours commented that you appeared hard-working, well-organised and were very tidy, making sure that the site was cleaned up and left in good order at the end of each day. So, we would happily recommend your services to anyone looking for good, reliable builders.

We spent some time researching builders in Norfolk before settling for V & B builders from Norwich.

Unlike other potential builders we canvassed, Vlad and Bogdan were the most professional, courteous and reliable builders we met, even when it came to coming to see us on time to discuss what we wanted to do in the first instance and that couldn't be said of others.

Some quotes we had were very brief whereas Vlad and Bogdan's quote was detailed and specific; they had clearly listened to what it was we were trying to achieve.

The quality of their building work was excellent, as was their work ethic. They were prepared to work long hours if necessary but this never detracted from the quality of the work they produced.

I must also thank them for keeping us updated throughout the process and if there was anything we were unclear about they were always prepared to take the time to explain the whys and wherefores.

As the build developed we had more ideas and asked for additional work to be done. Nothing was ever too much trouble and because of the detailed quote it was easy to work out any additional costs at the end of the project.

We are incredibly pleased we chose to work with Vlad and Bogdan and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for talented and respectful builders who communicate well and produce excellent work.

Kitchen Extension, Norwich

We found V&B having seen their van in Norwich and asked them to quote. Of the three quotes we requested, V&B were the most professional, bringing references and insurance documents to our first meeting and delivering the quote quickly.

We were planning on extending our kitchen out and sideways as well as opening up by removing two structural walls. In addition to this, our existing bathroom was to be moved upstairs. 

During our project V&B were professional throughout. They did all the structural work (including steels and propping), plastering, floors and installation of windows and doors. We were very pleased with the standard of work and the professionalism of V&B. They were exceptionally tidy, making sure the house was liveable throughout the works. They were always polite and courteous and communicated well, identifying snags early and minimising problems.

We would certainly recommend V&B and have already done so to neighbours and friends. 

Loft Conversion, Norwich

Having been so pleased with our kitchen extension, we decided to use V&B again for a planned loft conversion in our Victorian terrace house. This project required all first floor ceilings to be lowered and strengthened. The loft design included a dormer window and ensuite shower room.

With our first project using V&B, we decided to employ a project manager to oversee the works. This time we elected not to do this and work with V&B directly. We were happy with this arrangement, V&B were well aware of current building regulations and liaised well with building control and our architect. 

Again, we were very happy with V&B and their high standard of work. They were exceptionally tidy and any budget increases were discussed and agreed. 

We would not hesitate to use V&B again and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have nothing but praise for Vlad, Bogdan and Daniel who were exceptional professionals from start to finish. From day one I was impressed with their desire to take the job and its associated challenges on. 

They arrived to initial meetings with copies of the plans pre-printed, a DVD of their previous work and a set of praiseworthy references. They reassured me that the quote would be the final bill (which it was) and provided the best quotation of the 4 builders I initially made enquiries through.

Vlad and Bogdan were pragmatic in how they juggled their existing commitments to fit my job in but once they had started, the build became their sole focus. They arrived early, 7.30 most days and left late, 6.00 – 6.30. They also displayed hardiness, working through one of the coldest winters to memory.

The build has been completed to a really high standard as seen in the interior plastering, roofing and kitchen fitting. They had an eye for detail and understood the direction and style we were aiming for, offering alternatives to fit our budget.

They offered an excellent solution to a boundary problem, that sat well with us and the neighbours. They suggested we used their electrician and plumbing contacts, who were also excellent and dovetailed into the build exactly when they were needed - meaning there were no delays. During the build I asked for several additional quotations, which V and B were happy to quote on, all of which were well priced.

Ultimately, V and B went the extra mile. They would get us quotes for additions like bifolds and windows, taking much of the work out of the build. I was adamant that I didn’t want to become a project manager and my quick catch ups with V and B were always reassuring.

The build is fantastic and beyond our expectation. Vlad and Bogdan are polite, punctual, affordable and great craftsmen. 

I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

We have recently had 2 large extensions completed on our care home in Mulbarton. The work was completed to a fantastic standard by Vlad and his team at V & B Builders. Vlad is very knowledgeable and his English is fantastic. 

This was a very large job and as such we had lots of questions, Vlad was very helpful and always put our minds at rest with great advice and problem solving. His time keeping is very good and he is always on site early ensuring his team are working hard. The team worked through very bad weather and this did not slow them down. 

We had some problems along the way with sub-contractors, Vlad helped me to sort out the problems and went above and beyond what we had asked of him. Vlad’s workmanship was 10/10 and cannot be faulted. I would recommend V & B Builders to anyone and we will be using them again in the future without hesitation.
