Annex build, kitchen extension, bungalow modernisation and patio

Exceptional workmanship on a complex annex and kitchen extension.

Vlad and his team carried out substantial work, building an annex and extending a kitchen for our family home. The work, both the external finish and internal works including tiling, plastering and laying flooring, was carried out to an exceptionally high standard. This was a complicated build, with the annex designed by an architect to fit an odd shaped piece of land to the side of the house. Vlad and his team were able to work with the architect and from her plans to bring her vision to life and the results are impressive. Vlad and his team pay attention to detail and their workmanship is exceptional. Vlad's quote was competitive compared to other builders and building companies, and we are so pleased we decided to choose Vlad to carry out the work. After Vlad completed the annex, we then asked him to carry out modernisation of my mother's bungalow, which again he did to an exceptionally high standard, and also the building of a large patio in our garden. Each project has always been completed to a very high standard and within tight timescales. Vlad and his team work hard and complete work when they say they are going to. We would highly recommend Vlad and his team for any building works.

Single storey pitched-roof kitchen extension with vaulted ceiling

Clear quotation, tidy work, and an on-budget kitchen extension.

Vaia Construct was one of a number of builders who responded to our MyBuilder enquiry. We liked Vlad from the very first visit. He listened to what we wanted and was clear with what Vaia Construct would do and what they would not. It was at the time that the building regulations had just changed and our extension had been designed in compliance with the new regulations. Initially, we spoke with eight builders. Some ignored the regulation changes, some did not understand them, and some were grossly overpriced. Vlad's quotation was clear, very detailed and competitively priced. We appointed Vaia Construct with the confidence that we would get an extension that we would be very happy with. Vlad, Bogden, John and Danny proved to be courteous, obliging and exceptionally hard working. They generally started work at 7:30 and worked until 5:30 most days, 6:30 on others. I have never seen builders work so tidily and the quality of their work was exceptional. The quality of the brickwork puts the original 1980s brickwork to shame. Vaia Construct do not employ heating engineers, plumbers or electricians but suggest contractors who they know well. In theory, Vlad does not project manage or charge for that service. In practice, he does organise the work. The heating engineers that Vlad recommended were very good. Our project did overrun the ambitious completion date that we were given. However, we are absolutely delighted with the completed extension and the fact that it was delivered on budget with minimal extras. On his first visit, Vlad told us we would be very pleased with what they did. He was right, we are. We would have no hesitation in recommending Vaia Construct to anyone.
